FAQ

Does WyreDeck come with channels or movies?

No. WyreDeck is a player. You supply the streams via your own IPTV provider (Xtream Codes, M3U playlist, or LAN Backbone).

WyreDeck itself is a lawful IPTV player. What you stream through it is your responsibility. Use providers that have rights to distribute the content they serve.

Where do my credentials go?

They're stored encrypted on the device. WyreDeck doesn't send them to us or anyone else. Stream requests go directly from your TV to your provider's server.

Does WyreDeck phone home?

No. The app talks to (1) your IPTV provider's server and (2) TMDB if you've added a key. That's it.

Why is a title showing but has no playable episodes?

Probably an orphan metadata entry — the catalog matched a TMDB title but the provider didn't deliver the actual stream. Our latest build filters these out; if you see one, refresh the provider from Settings.

Why did the app restart after I added a language?

Known bug. Relaunch the app — your new setting is saved and sync will pick up. We're working on it.

Can I add multiple providers?

Yes. Settings → Providers → Add. Content from all enabled providers shows up in one unified library.

Can I temporarily disable a provider?

Yes. Settings → Providers → toggle enabled. Its content hides from Browse but stays on the device; re-enabling is instant.

How do I get a TMDB API key?

See TMDB API key. Free, about 5 minutes.

Does my TV profile share a library with my roommate's profile?

Yes. Profiles separate watchlists, progress, and language preferences. Providers and the imported catalog are shared across profiles.

Can I use WyreDeck on multiple devices?

Yes — install on each device and set up providers there. The standalone version doesn't sync across devices. The (upcoming) LAN Backbone and Cloud modes will.

How do I report bugs?

Post in the tester WhatsApp group with a screenshot, the exact error text, and brief steps to reproduce. Logcat output (adb logcat -d *:E) is gold if you can grab it.

What Android versions are supported?

Android TV API 26 (Android 8.0) and up. Most smart TVs made since 2019 qualify.
