FAQ¶
Does WyreDeck include channels, movies, or subscriptions?¶
No. WyreDeck is a player and organizer for sources you provide. Use providers that have the right to distribute their content.
Where are provider credentials stored?¶
Local Install stores them on the TV. A Backbone-managed provider stores them on your own LAN Backbone. WyreDeck's account service does not receive them.
Does WyreDeck contact an account service?¶
A purely local installation without a linked account can operate without the account service. When you link an anonymous account, the app uses the service for pairing, device authentication, tier, and expiry. Provider credentials, provider catalogs, and viewing state are outside that service.
An issue report is sent only when you submit one from the app.
Can I use more than one provider?¶
Yes. Open Settings > Providers & Sync > Manage providers. Enabled provider content is combined into the applicable browsing surfaces.
Can I hide a provider surface temporarily?¶
Yes. You can hide Live TV, Movies, or Series for a provider and re-enable it later. Locally retained data is not immediately deleted just because a surface is hidden.
Can I use WyreDeck on multiple TVs?¶
Yes. Local Install configures each TV separately. A LAN Backbone can provide a shared household catalog and profile playback state to paired TVs. An anonymous WyreDeck account currently supplies account and tier continuity, not a readable cloud copy of provider catalogs or viewing history.
Is the LAN Backbone available?¶
The app includes the LAN Backbone setup and pairing path for an existing Backbone appliance. It is an advanced, self-operated setup, not a hosted WyreDeck catalog service.
What Android versions are supported?¶
WyreDeck supports Android TV and Google TV devices running API level 26 (Android 8.0) or newer.
How do I report a bug?¶
Open Help in the app and choose Report an issue. Include the observed behavior and reproduction steps, but never enter an account number, provider credential, playlist URL, stream URL, or TMDB key.
Where are account and privacy questions answered?¶
Use the WyreDeck Help center for account pairing, device limits, current payment availability, and account security. The Privacy policy is authoritative for current data collection and retention.
